1990 Civic DX I Need Help!
Alright, here's how it goes. My girlfriend has a 1990 Honda Civic 3 Door automatic Hatchback. I recently swapped the motor and put in a 1995 SOHC non vtec. I replaced the MPFI Intake manifold from the 95 SOHC with the PGMFI Intake Manifold from the 90 SOHC so that I wouldn't have to change the wiring. At first it wouldn't turn on because it needed a new main relay. I changed the main relay and the car started. It used to throw two codes from the ECU. One code is 10 fast blinks which translates to a bad IAT(Intake Air Temperature Sensor) and the other one was was 16 fast blinks which translated to a bad Fuel Injector. However, I reset the ECU and it now only throws the one code for the IAT. My problem is this: When I turn on the car it starts fine and runs normally. After about 10-15 minutes of running when I put it into any of the gears D4, D3, 2, and R the car starts to choke and wants to shut off. As soon as i put my foot on the gas and accelerate it shuts off and I can hear backfiring.Even if i leave it in Park and try to accelerate it still chokes and wants to shut off. If I try to turn it on after this happens the same thing occurs over and over. However if I let it rest for a few hours and then turn it on it starts normally again but then after 10-15 minutes the same problem occurs. The only code that it throws is 10 fast blinks which means that it is a bad Intake Air Temparature Sensor. I really do not know what can be wrong with the car and I need help desperately. I thought that it could be that i put the wires in the wrong spots when I reconnected the PGMFI Intake Manifold. Some1 Please help me!
