Red face idling problems

i recently got this 92 GP SE and as i was on the way home it lost great deal of power some have said map iac sensors or even fixing the cracked and broken hoses leaving the air box boot where the sensors are it stays running if i keep it reved to over 2000 rpms but as soon as i let it go to idle it stalls anyone with knowledge give me some advice?

First of all what size engine do you have and is this the first time you have had this problem? Are there any other symptoms associated with this loss of power. It sounds like a bad catalytic converter to me. Last question, does it take a while to get it to rev up?

Maybe try patching cracks with rtv silicone just to see if things improve & then get newer boot.
