clutch replacement
hey everyone im new to this board. i have a 1992 3000gt sl and the clutch recently went out. my friend and i were looking at it and we were thinking take the tranny out from the top but when i read some threads on hear it seemed u were all taking the tranny out from the bottom, is there any way to just lift the tranny out from the top or is the bottom the only way to go. (i have a chain hoist and all that set up)

Re: clutch replacement
well the tranny it self aint that heavy... and plus you cant really pull it from the top because you have to wedge it out from the body and the fender walls really dont allow that... i always did it from the bottom and it wasnt that hard... plus i had a vr4 so it may differ a little from yours because i have to remove a tansfer case and drive shaft... so im already down there anyways...

You'll end up saving yourself alot of time and trouble by going through the bottem. I know going through the top is an apealing idea, but I've tried it, and it just didn't work.
