280zxt
so its gettin to the point where im looking around for a daily driver / winter car so i can put my z32 away for the winter, the first place i looked was the local want ads and found a 1982 280zx turbo for $1000 or best offer. now the 280 is a personal favorite of mine and im really thinkin about pickin this one up as long as it runs/drivers well.
my question is if something went wrong w/ it would it be expensive to fix/replace and is it worth the money? also im almost 6'6'' would i fit in the 280zx turbo or not? i fit in my z32 well and even could stand to move the seat foward a tiny bit... |

Re: 280zxt
$1000 seems pretty cheap for a 280ZX Turbo. either it has a lot of miles or there is probably something wrong. i would order a victoria british catalog (www.victoriabritish.com) to check out prices on parts. keep us posted.

Re: 280zxt
beats me man, best way to figure it out is go out and sit in one... lol.. as for parts and stuff, if you can find a few in the local boneyard you should be good to go..

Re: 280zxt
i have a 280zx n/a and being a 2 seater the seat goes back really far. I have not had a single problem with mine but old jap cars are known for having expensive parts. EX- to do bake pads and rotors on the front and rear was $200. and a new AC compressor was $850.
My second point is that mine is not even a turbo and it can get pretty tail-happy in the rain, not to mention snow. so i wouldnt recomend it as a winter car.

okay so ive talked to the guy and im going to look at it today, he says it leaks oil from the pan gasket which is no biggie to fix, it needs a alternator and the floor under the drivers feet is rusted.
so how much do you thinnk it would cost to cut out and replace the driverside floor pan? |

Re: 280zxt
whatever the cost of cutting a hole and welding is... shouldn't be too costly
