Anti Theft

We bought a 02 Cavalier 2 days ago. We needed it so my wife to drive it to college so I wanted something good on gas. The problem is this, it was a salvage. It had been in a flood. I didn't know anything about this, but it seemed to be in good shape when I bought it except the ABS and Brake lit was on. Air worked, radio, everything expect the CD player. The next day I tried to work on the ABS light so I pulled the fuses to see if any were blown. I dropped one beside the battery so I had to disconnected the battery. Bad decision. I don't have a manual, so I didn't know anything about the Theft system. The theft light, check gage, service light came on, gages quit, the milage said error and the radio said LOC, and the air stopped working. It cranked and we drove it that day. The next day I was told to lock all the doors, disconnect the battery and use the key to unlock the door and start the car and the theft should go off. Now it wont start at all. I don't have a manual to get the code, and I don't have the money for a wrecker. Can anyone please help me....I am so disgusted...

Try turning the key to the on position and letting it stay on for 20 min. It sounds like your anti theft has gone into fail mode. It should reset with the key on for 20 min. As for the radio, you will probably have to go to GM to get it unlocked. Or get an after market radio and install it.

Tried that...didn't work...we are so sick...We are calling the Chevy place today to see if they can help us..anybody else got a suggestion to unlock it?

We had to get the guy we bought it from to come get it with a wrecker. We should find out tomorrow if he is going to give us something else on the lot or fix this one..
