Step by Step Process: Swapping out an old 87 4cyl for a new 93 4 cyl
I just ed wanted to add this for anyone that is interested. If anyone would like to know, I am taking out the old 4 cyl engine out of my 1987 Mustang LX since it has 173, 058 miles on it. I am replacing it with a 2.3 4 cyl out of my old 93 that kept blowing trannys. The differences in engines is pretty significant. 87 motor: Distributor No timing position sensor Different plug ins 4 Spark Plugs for Combustion 93 Motor: Different Plug ins Timing sensor 4 Spark Plugs for combustion 4 Spark Plugs for excess burn off Dual coil packs Wiring harness So I am going to be swapping a lot if anyone would like to add some details on to it and some advice, please let me know. This is the first time I have done this so you never know how it may come out |
