Don't believe any of the 'W' cars had coil springs in the back. They had a fibreglass transverse leaf spring tucked up in the rear cradle. Its black/grey, about 5" wide and arcs across the width of the car. Visible from underneath. Seems like there was an additional 'helper spring, looked like a figure 8 rubber piece.

hello, i have a 94 cutlass, they dont have springs in the struts, they have a fiberglass monoleaf, you will notice this leafe going out, when your car starts falling from the back and the front looks higher.

yeah, no problem, but make sure that the struts were the problem, in my case both the monoleaf and the struts are out. remember, that monoleaf is fiberglass, and it will go out some day.

I just had that problem with my struts. When you order parts order the one with the mounts. That rubber piece is included and it is very hard to compress the thing if it shoots out of the bracket ( and it will shoot out if you don't get the screw in right away to hold it down). The rubber piece shot out of my right one and I'm having a heck of a time finding somone/something to compress it. Good Luck

did that to saturn, took a bolt and a washer with a nut and tightned the top half down all the way and it went back in, then just take the bolt out and stick a screwdriver in there and flip the washer and nut out.

cutlas rear end sagging

every four years i replace the rear shock struts .they get old and leak and eventually bind. this binding keeps the fiberglass spring from using the stored energy from its last movement from restoring the car to its proper height.
