starting problem
here is the problem im having now. just bought the 97 buu
didnt start when i got it now i can get it to start but only if i hold the throttle body wide open from under the hood. it dosent rev real high (probably a rev limiter) and it i let the lever go the car dies. if i let the lever down slowit will try to shut off. some times it will shut off with the body open i think it could be dumping to much fuel, if so what could it be?? if not that what could it be?? engine 3.1 (3100)ohv Last edited by hgreeniii; 08-22-2005 at 10:41 PM. |

Re: starting problem
Is it getting lots of air? Try to run it without the air filter. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? A clogged filter may reduce the flow of fuel at idle. Verify that all vacuum hoses are in good shape and have no leaks.

Re: starting problem
Quick question, When I fuel up and attempt to start the car it stalls and I have to give it some gas and slowly try to put it gear, it jumps. Is my fuel pump going out? or Could it be the injectors(fuel)?
