97 camaro with possesed RPM's

it will only do this once the car is really hot, especially in hot weather.

ill be cruisin on the freeway in 5th gear. my RPM's will be around 2400-2600 depending on my speed and then all of a sudden they drop down to 0 and the call stalls. what's weird is i dont have to turn the key to restart the car. all i have to do is step on the gas and my RPS's shoot back up to normal. but then they begin to drop down to around 2100 then back up to 2400, down again, and up again. it will do this until i floor it or down shift to get my RPM's above 3000. then it goes away...till the next time.

so far i have replaced the: air filter, maf sensor, crank sensor, coils, plugs, and wires.

ideas, questions, comments, please.

thanks.
