need info on what ecm mods a tuboed 420a needs.

o.k i'm new to imorts but not turbos. i'm a diesel mechanic and everything i work on is boosted. what i'm trying to figure out is what i need to do to the ecm to run a turbo on a 420a in a 97 rs eclipse, with an auto that is going to hit the parts bin after locating a 5 speed. the engine will be built to handle the stress of boost and my driving habits. just looking for a bone yard engine now because i enjoy driving it more than my fuel chugging gmc.

Nothing needs to get done to the ECU in order to run a turbo. You just need all the supporting mods in order to keep from things such as fuel cut. No actual "mods" are need to be done to the ECU though.

Now if you're switching from auto to manual, you need a manual ECU, and drop out that auto transmission computer.

You will need to get some kind of Fuel Cut Defender. You could either use missing link which is a mechanical device or an electronic one. which ever you prefer. Basicly you are preventing the computer from reading boost from the MAP sensor.
