Just for future reference, gas tank

To anyone who has dropped their gas tank and may have noticed, would it be possible to cut the approporate size hole in the car floor with a dremel and cut off wheel to remove sender without dropping tank?, then maybe rivet a cover over the hole? just a idea, just in case..
I have never noticed when under there if it is in a location where this would be possibe.

That's very possible, that's how ford escorts come. Remove the rear seat and there is a bolted access cover for the fuel pump. I've done a few lumina fuel pumps and it is a PITA. An access port is a good idea. Location may be a problem. Your hole would probably be under the rear seat just like escorts.

Yeah that is why i was asking, because if the tank hole is horizontal enough it would be easier to cut the floor for access, unless maybe there is some reenforcing beam or something in the way. ANyway if no one else does in the meantime, and i DO need to access mine, ill post here the size and exact location of hole needed just in case anyone else hates dropping tanks, LOL...
