ac and heater is not woking properly

my friend has a altima 93, ac and heater is not working properly, when you set it to blow air to the floor or toward you it wont work, it only works blowing air towards the wind sheld. if any one can halp thank you all in advanced.

Mine was like that just a few days ago..it was a blown fuse at the bottom right of the driver side/steering column.
