Supercharger

There is a guy in town that is selling a powerdyne supercharger with all componets for 1000.00. He just sold him s-10 and sold t with out the supercharger. Question is, how hard is it to install a supercharger on my 96 4.3., and also is there any way to tell if a supercharger is bad or good. It came off a 2000 4.3 pickup. I want to put it on my blazer. Any help would be great thanks.

Re: Supercharger

It should fit on yours no problem.

No real way to tell unless you install it.

$1000 is a great price though.

So BlazerLT do you know how easy it is to install this, or should I have a shop do it.

I know alot about engines and have done alot of work on engines. Most of the work I have done has been on carborated engines. I know all the basics, have all the tools. Just never installed anything this major on fuel injection.

Re: Supercharger

If you don't know, don't do it.

Have someone who knows help you or have a shop install it. They will be able to set it up properly and can test things right there.

Re: Supercharger

you need a new intake manifold, and a new possibly special belt size, other then that its not that difficult if you can work your way around a wrench, and know what i mean if i would ask you for a torx bit...

Re: Supercharger

The kit will usually include all that.

Re: Supercharger

i know, but this sounds like a used kit, which will work just fine, but im forwarning to the fact that not every one is as honest as they should be when selling used parts

A thousand bucks is a great price for a supercharger; if it works and has everything. Obviously. I got a quote on one for my 4.3 and it was a little over $4,000. Which isn't really worth it for only +7HP. They shop also said it was 75lb/ft increase though. but only 7HP? $4,000?

FUH-GET-A-BOWT IT!

Re: Supercharger

4k is about right for a new sc on a 4.3, the 7 horses is way off, but the price seams about right... and i noticed in you sig that you want 4.3l upgrades, the best one is a 5.7l 350.. second best costs a thousand more dollers, and the guy that you got your quote from doesnt know what hes talken about... willis

Re: Supercharger

Found this link online that says the HP jump could be up to 50%. It is a 7psi boost. Not 7hp boost.
http://superchargersonline.com/produ...=PD-K10525-201

Found two or three other sites selling this kit for roughly $2500 shipped new. Not too bad but way outta my range for a Blazer anyway. Would rather buy a used 3rd gen Camaro and play with that instead.

Re: Supercharger

Don't wanna sound negitive about this
I don't know too much about Supercharges, but..........

Would you not damage the internals of an engine by slapping it on there as is?
