Re: my pics of the famous 11R

Interesting collection of cars. I like the F40 over the F50, and I would take a CLK DTM over the S55, but the others are pretty cool.

Not talking about the McLarens, of course, they are always at the top of my list.

I would also add a Koenigsegg CCR and Carrera GT to the collection.

Nice work and nice photos. I saw your story on SCF about playing the "I came all the way from Holland" card to get him to let you take pics. Nice work there!

Great pictures! My favorite is where you can see both 23R and 11R.

It has been advertised as #23R. It's somewhat hard to be sure with those cars as there were actually four longtail GTRs that wore the FINA livery through the 1997 season and at times they had slightly different liveries and different race numbers depending if they were in the FIA GT series or at LeMans.

I based it off the drivers' names, Kox and Ravaglia, which QV500 shows them as teammates for the majority of 23Rs race time. I think there was 1 other Fina GTR that used number 9 a few times and I know the number 8 was used on several chassis.

I see the point you are making, and normally would agree, but you can't be so certain based simply on the driver's names on the door. Nothing would stop someone from buying one longtail GTR and having it refinished to look like another more successful car, all the way down to the last detail of the livery. The fact that there are two #39 short tailed FINA GTRs proves that. Since there is no guarantee we are looking at an original livery on the car you have to be skeptical until more info is there to confirm it. In this case, the KS-Autohandel ad offered the chassis number.

I have seen the same thing happen with other historic race cars - taking an also-ran and refinishing it to appear like the car with all the glory.

That was the chassis number they listed it with in their advertisement on Mobile.de website. I would assume it is correct until further proof otherwise.

When you go back to take the photos. Just ask a sales person. In fact dont just ask how much. Ask everything about it.
