1985 regal - rattling noise

I've got an '85 regal limited...and there's some sort of rattling noise coming from inside my car, sounds like either inside the dash or inside the steering column. It rattles over bumps, or when the car is idling low enough to make the engine vibrate enough (brakes on when it's in gear). I'm pretty sure it's in the steering column, but I'm not certain...it only seems to be noticeable inside the car and sounds like it's coming from that area.
Has anybody else ever experienced this noise/problem? Also, the windows seem to rattle a bit, not sure if the tracks are worn out or if the door panel is loose. What's the best method to remove these door panels, I'd like to check this window thing out. If anybody has an online manual (repair/service) for this car/year...that would be great as well.

Later.

Turns out the rattling was caused by the shifter linkage. It was loose and kept rattling against the header flange. I tightened it up, it seemed to be kinda tight when you went down to 2nd or 1st, but thought...whatever it still works fine, so left it be. A couple of days later, the linkage pulls right through and I can't shift gears from inside anymore...so I had to get it fixed up and have to go back later to get the bar bent or something so that it doesn't hit on the flange anymore.

Later.
