Question RB26 or 2JZ

Anyone know if the RB26 can be made street leagal in the US or should i just drop a 2JZ in my 240 as to not piss the cops off where i live to much. I would rather keep it all nissan but it seems like the cops like to pull over and give a hard time to anything that looks good and can beat the crap out of american muscle. Personally i think that if they build a hot rod old chevy than build it fast or don't call it a hot rod.

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

2JZ-GTE is a badass engine. I would personally take one over a RB26 but both engines are great. I love the sound of a 2JZ or even a 7MGTE revving...

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

So I'm guessing so far is to just go with the 2JZ. I was kinda already thinking that since it is already us spec and all. I'm not looking to make people at shows go oooooooooooooo aaaaahhhhhhhhh at a RB26 i just want the one with the more bang for the buck and not more bucks to pay my fines.

here's what i think about everyone at shows 2 cents

"If people don't like my work than you should be able to tell me what i can do better or just keep your mouth shut"

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

wouldnt there also be much more availability in parts for a 2jz rather than an RB26, are you doing the work on your own or paying to have it installed..sounds like it would be a fun project

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

both are great engine i dont understand yur logic about getting in trouble w/ the cops though either way if your going fast and what not and get caught your in trouble and cops dont know shit they wont look under the hood and if they do they wouldnt know the difference between and rb and 2jz. go w/ whatever suits you though

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

RB26 will for sure be legal if you make your exhaust out of catalic converters. And for me RB26 and 2JZ are equaly matched.

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

No it won't. It wasn't sold in the states nor did it come in a car that was. It is, in fact, illegal just as the SR20DET is. So many dumbass laws regarding engine swaps..... How about Fuck you? My car, my money, my share of pollution(other people pollute things such as TV, my ears, my eyes, my life, ect so I'm gonna pollute your air!), my car runs, it gets from point a to point b and it doesn't drop half its weight on the way there. Oh yea, and the most important part, What the fuck is your logic behind making laws on engine swaps? Answer that with an answer I approve of and I'll refrain from putting my foot in your ass. Hows that?

And for all of you tree-hugging protesters that come up with these atrocious laws, here is a banner I made to protest you.

My banner

A picture speaks a thousand words. Or maybe just three in my case.

For real.
And BPA- some japanese cars may look good, there is no fucking way most of them can "beat the crap out of american muscle", those things are monsters on the drag strip with right setup.

nissanfanatic- I ment smog legal, illegal to have in you car though.

Re: RB26 or 2JZ

Most American cars can be covered by my banner as well. Since most of their owners have ruined their reputation by polluting my ears with bullshit.

ok heres....

Heres an FYI...for all you people out there who think that car pollution will destroy the ozone BITE ON THIS. When Mount St. Helens blew there was over 3 CUBIC MILES OF GASES AND ASH put into the air. Which is more then every car ever made has put out exhaust wise since the beginning of cars SOOOO if mount st helens didnt make a dent then we sure as hell are not. Heres another thing when this planet is tired of us being here it will roll over, yawn, stretch and shake our little asses off.
