Stay away from any scoop, and just buy the hood.
they seen to crack around the scoop after a year or 2

Re: hood scoops

I could have told you where to get the hood from 2 monhs ago, but the guy that painted my car sold his business and moved.

Both steel and fiberglass hoods are good.
Steel is usually straighter than fiberglass when it's new but the fiberglass hood won't get those dings in it.
There are probably more choices in fiberglass hoods

Also,I would chose steel before glass. The glass hoods even though the manufacture states it's ready for paint, is total B.S..You will have more work in a preping a glass hood, although there are more stlyes to chose from and the glass will be lighter. So try looking for steel first.

Re: hood scoops

goodmark.com order you a quality gm hood there is all types of hoods but I recomemd a steel hood from goodmark they are careful in shipping and the check every hood before it leaves to make sure it is right and the weight is about the same as your old hood and if you get a cowl hood and a kandn top element breather if you have tbi you will gain about 5 mpg and a noticable gain in hp an torque

Re: hood scoops

I never thought about steel hood scoops, welded on. If they make them that would probably work good.

Re: hood scoops

Just a thought, but how about a shaker hood scoop
http://www.higginsfordperformance.com/shakerhood.htm
I know that it's on a Mustang, but with some imagination I'm sure that you can make something like that work
