Problems at the gas station
whenever i pump gas into the fuel tank at the gas station, the gas station will stop pumping gas into my fuel tank, as if it were full, but it will pump gas if i was carefull at lightly hold the pump and not let the gas pump too fast.
does anyone have any idea why this is happening. i'm afraid something is wrong with the fuel pump in my car. i have a 2000 toyota corolla. |

Just back out a little with the pump nozzle and you should be ok. It must get air locked somehow, and trips the nozzle to kick out as if it were full.
It does this to my van and once you back out a little, you are ok. There is nothing wrong with your car. |

Re: Problems at the gas station
There is a breather hose connected to the filler neck of your tank. It is probably plugged or kinked.

Re: Problems at the gas station
I have a 91 corolla and it has a 12 or 13 gallon tank but I can only pump about 9 gallons in, then I have to bring the pump out a bit to fill it anymore.
