Angry 1997 Z-24 - Electrical Issues!!!

Hi,

I have a 1997 Z-24 with an automatic transmission. For the past several weeks, I have been having problems starting the car. When I turn the key in the ignition, the dashlights come on, but nothing happens. No turn over. Sometimes if I hold it there for a minute, it turns over and starts fine. I noticed when this happens, the radio clock always resets itself to 1:00. The other oddity I've noticed is that sometimes when I hit a bump while driving, the parking brake and ABS lamps will light up and won't turn off until I turn the car off and restart it. At first I though it was a bad battery cable...it was frayed so I had it replaced...thought I had the problem nicked, but it's still happening. This morning while driving to work the car stalled at a light when I turned the A/C on as if the drain on the electrical system killed it. It didn't want to start (same thing, no turn over etc.) but eventually I got it going and all was fine. It seems to be worse when the car has sat all night or if it is damp or raining. I have read through other posts that some people have heard clicking and buzzing noises under the dash, which I too have heard when it's acting up. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I hate to put it in the shop and spend a fortune having the problem diagnosed through trial and error if someone has a good idea what's going on. THANKS!!!
