hooking up caps?

i am hooking up a 2000 watt amp to 2 subs. can i hook up both of my 1 farad caps to the amp.

does caps really make a sound difference or just a power difference? i know i def. need a cap but i am wondering if my system will sound any cleaner with it.

No, a cap will not make a sound difference. When you notice that your lights dimming everytime the bass hits, then you might need a cap. Moerover, when you have a system of 1000W and up, you may need a cap... unless you choose to actually solve the problem with a higher output alternator.

i would recommend a cap even if you have a high output alternator. batteries do not put out the energy the amp need fast enough (excluding the batcap). the cap would discharge faster so your amp wouldn't have to eat up the power from other things such as headlights and thats why you'll get dimming.

i have a rockford 600 4 channel amp pushing a single sub.. is a full 1 farad needed or can a .5 do enuff?
