Electrical problems: battery drains overnight

I've replaced the battery in my 1988 Lebaron 5 times in the last four
years!

I just bought the fifth battery and the car sat for a week.
The other four wound up with bad cells.
This time the battery was just dead when I tried to start the car.

Something is draining and destroying these batteries even when the car
sits and is not being driven.

HELP!!!

Thanks

Got an alarm system? That played hell on my battery in my 93 LeBaron. Also, how are the cable ends? Much corrosion? Aftermarket sound system? If so, make sure the amps are being left powered all the time and are getting shut off when the ignition is off.
So many different things it could be.

well, there is either something left on or the car is drawing too many amps for the keep alive memory. Either test the amperage with the car off coming out of the battery by using a meter, and putting it in series with the ground side of the battery, if there is more than 30 milliamps then you have a problem and need to further investigate.

and a little baking soda and vinegar will clean up the terminals good without having to remove them
