Heard the BAD news today = transfercase DEAD need opinions from you 3/S experts
my dad came to my room earlier today and told me that my transfercase is all destroyed
, im thinking of going to the mitsubishi or dodge dealer to get it on the RECALL, but i was also looking at 3si.org tuners and saw this beautiful things for VR4 and AWD stealth first ![]() the 300M AWD output shaft (This is an AWD Transmission 300M Output Shaft - strongest available. It is a must-have for drag racers because during a car launch the front wheels spin and most of the torque goes to the rear wheels through this shaft. It is made from the same material that Formula 1 cars make their shafts from. Nobody has ever broken one, as far as we know) second ![]() the Kormex Helical Torsen-type Limited Slip Differential (this replaces the front open differential on 3/S cars. It will add traction to your front end, prevent inner front wheel lockup or wheel spin, and will take stress away from the marginal transmission rear output shaft.) my questions are this if i put this things on my transfercase would this help out the common problem 1G awd have with the transfercase? also would mitsubishi agree to put them together or would i have to get my transfercase recall and then put this parts on the transfer with a another mechanic? |

I doubt mitsu would put them in under the teams of the warranty.
They'd probably do it for a fee. BUt putting parts in to upgrade for racing might make them reconsider the recall ![]() But neither part will help the 1g tcase issues. Now e2k's transfercase cage that might its new so no way to know for sure yet.

Also, both of those parts go in the transmission, not the t-case.

Re: Heard the BAD news today = transfercase DEAD need opinions from you 3/S experts
The only thing about have the new parts for them to put in is that you need a new transer case and that does not require takeing the tranny out... the output shaft and the differential does... and if they did have to take the tranny down and take it apart for some odd reason... most place charge out the wazooo just for bring your own parts... its rare to see a shop who will like you bringing your own parts... they usellly like useing their own especially dealers. i have contacts in dif. shops like exauhst and mechanics and they dont charge me nothing to bring my own stuff but i hear them talking about how they charge a crap load when other people do...

yeah thats thru but i thought that if i put this parts on the tranny it would help out my transfercase in reducing the stress of a hard lauch, also i saw my tc yesturday en the output shaft is in gread shape but the input shaft had no splines and also the shaft that gets in the transfercase (the one from the transmision) also has al the splines destroyed

i think the shaft from the transfercase the the differential is built into the tranny... and requires a brand new transmission... (i might be wrong)
