95 Ody Rattling noise??
Hey, Guys new to this forum. And would appreciate some help. I just recently acquired a 95 odyssey. A hand me down from the wife. She was sick of minor old car problems. So we purchased a new 2004 Ody. I have been trying to isolated a rattle when it is in any drive range. Even in reverse when stopped. No noise idling out of gear. I have isolated it to the exhaust connections. And looking at the book think it might be the gaskets between the sections. Has anyone else had this problem.

Grumpy, were you ever able to identify the cause of that rattle? I seem to be having a similar problem. If you have any insights to the problem, I'd appreciate some help.
Thanks, Jon Quote:

I have a 96 which had the same noise from the exhast. When in park of nuetral, no noise. When in gear (any), rattling from the undercarriage. I finally figured out the guards on the exhast, muffler, catalytic converter, etc. were rattling. The spot welds had come loose and the guards were rattling. I put large hose clamps to hold them tight and the rattling stopped. Then I had a muffler shop re-spot weld them for a permanent fix. Hope this helps.

hello, owenbrock is right about the the heatshields that cover some of the exhaust components like the cat converter for example.another area to keep an ear for is the a-pipe gasket/s.its very characteristics of 94-96 accords which has the same engine.rev the engine at 1800-2100 rpm with your other foot on the brks.if u hear a buzzing noise, then its the a pipe gaskets.it will only minimize the noise though, it wont eliminate it.good luck.
