Dude, Where's my gas?

The manual says the full capacity is 10 gallons. I'm not sure if there is a light that comes on at E but I let the needle touch the E. Went to fill up the gas tank and was only able to fill up 6 gallons which came to 13 bucks. Eek! So I'm just wondering where the 4 other gallons have gone to?

And yeah, bouncing gas needle is annoying and misinforming. :hmmm:

my '92 hatch does shit like that all the time. it's damn annoying just watch the odometer more than the gas guage i get 250-280 per tank and that's with a b16. before the swap i was getting 300-350, it was a d15 nonvtec.

Bouncing needle should be your indicator that the fuel electronic system is failing. It could be the sender or the guage. I would go for the guage. The fuel and speedometer went erratic on my 95 and I purchased through an on-line junkyard an entire set of guages for $10. The guages worked great and now things are back to normal.

Then that means the majority of 92-95 civic owners must buy new sender or guages? Thats like a defect and Honda should do something about it.
