Talking Completed: "Spiderweb" Tamiya Honda S2000

Hi everyone!

This is my latest work, I call it "project speedbuild" because it´s been built in less than a week, that is extremly fast for someone like me! It´s the Tamiya S2000 and it´s built more or less OOTB. The reason I´m building this one so quick is because I have to finish it in time for a model contest next saturday. Earlier this evening when I clear-coated it the stupid-piece-of-shit-TS-13 decided to start running on a spot on the left side of the car! Not the hardest thing to fix but still quite undesired, specially when you´re under pressure. To make it easier for me I decided to paint it in a "spider-web"-theme...
When completed it´ll have a aluminium mesh in the front, carbon mirrors and a scratchbuilt GT-wing in metal (I´m thinking of "scribing" a spider-web on the "end-plates" of the wing, we´ll see how that turns out).

I´m not satisfied with it but it´ll do. I think that it´s ok considering to amount of time I´ve spent on it though.
Enough talking and time for some (big, sorry) pics!

That´s all for now, more pics can be found here:

Thanks for looking!

The straight lines were masked w. thin strips of BMF (bare metal foil) and the curved ones I did using a regular masking tape made for masking curved windows and stuff, it´s pretty elastic and bends easily.

Stay tuned for some more updates!

Well, I got it finished just a few hours before the contest and this is also my first completed model of 2005! And it´s a personal speed-record that I most likely will never break.
Here are some pics of it at the contest, I´ll post some more very soon showing more details. I will also upload a photo-album of the contest with around 100 pics.

STAY TUNED PEOPLE!!!

Re: Progress: Tamiya Honda S2000 (big pics)

Looking good!
How was the contest? I couldn't go as both my wife and the youngest son got a stomach flu the night before, Adrian has already had a shoot at it so now it's only me left. Do I need to say I don't really looking forward to that? Looking forward to the photo report from CCM-Open '05

'til next time

The contest was´nt really that good at all IMO, the new place was much too small for so many people, there was many retailors, Virago, Hobbybiten and more. Some really great models and the competition was rough, I think the "custom"-class was the best one. The award-ceremony was under all critiques, noone heard anything and the organization was poor. But overall it was nice because I found some PE wipers for my ´Stang!
Sorry to hear about the stomach flu going on in your family, hope they all get better soon.
