No one knows whats wrong
This only happens when my air conditioning is on. When i stop at a red light my battery will go down to 7 or 8 amps. When i take off it will go back up to 14 amps. Had the alternator checked out it was fine and i got a brand new battery. Mechanic said he couldnt find anything wrong with it. When the air is off it runs perfect. Any help would be awesome. Got a 99 camaro v6. Thanks for helping.

Re: No one knows whats wrong
This is normal. A/C takes a lot of amperage to run.
As long as your car stays running, you are fine. Your idle may be a touch low though, enabling the alternator to slow down more than it should.

![]() Youe PCM should be signaling the IAC (idle air control) to open and raise the ilde speed. Sounds like for whatever reason, the IAC isn't doing so. |
