Navi. & TV Monitor
Hi Everyone
How does a navigation system work w/ a regualr like Alpine Head Unit, or it doesn't? I have a alpine head unit, and wanted to add a monitor (the one w/ navi. controls on it) and buy the navigation brain. Would this work, or do I need to buy something to control this like the ALpine cva 1006, see i don't want the flip out monitor, I want to just mount it into the console and surround it w/ plexi glass. Any information would be helpful One more question Anyone know any books on how to install your own audio equipment in a car. I had my stuff installed last time, but now if I add a system in my other I want to do it myself ( i think )Thanks |

you can order any type of monitor that accepts inputs for DVD/NAVI tools. you can just buy the brains of the navi system and run it to the monitor you buy, there is no need for the flip out unit, they are just cleaner looking, plus your less likely of theft if it just looks like a deck and not a TV.
however you will need a seperate DVD/navi HU as well as your alpine head unit, so its just less hassle to wire up the flip out unit then it is to wire up seperate controls for both systems.
