What do you use it for?

Alright ladies and gents, just thought i would throw a thread to see if anyone would bite. Now i know that the z isnt the fastest dog in town, but i took mine to High School Drags, and made quater finals. I beat the tar out of mine, all over the twisties, and she just takes it all. I have however seen people using them for stereo and the like. So my Question to all is what do you use it for, show, transportation, street beating, track what?

Best overall purpose -they seem to take it hard too (steamed rice is so laughable)! Must be double the guilt to know first off they gave profits to Tokyo, and then to lose face...

Definitly a worthy cause. I feel inspired to bolt on horsepower.

Re: What do you use it for?

Man best i can say, use it as how it fits you. mine is manderain copper, all options but its an auto. i turn plenty of heads. i had a 90 plymouth laser with a stick. and that was my go out and nhave fun car. but my 03 zx2 is well mannered for street crousin. and im not going to screw too much with that. ive made some mods, but im regretting them now. not to mention im hearing alot of stories about the at tranny. all bad. i assume yours is a stick, its the only version that has any power. all i can say though is just remember those dollar signs when something goes. i.e. head replacement to a 90 laser> 2 grand to find replace and have the "new" head shaved (yes it was warped), and redone

Re: What do you use it for?

you and me both , but i cant find one anywhere. all the ones ive found are either older model 2000-02 but no 03's and ive maybe found only 2 sticks of the probibly 100 ive looked at. ive even gone to dealerships to see if they can give me the number of automatics and sticks, or even how many were made period, and noone can tell me. yould figure it would be in a book somewhere. and here is another kicker, both chevy and dodge kept making the motors, whole or bare block, ie the ecotec by chevy. but ford doesnt.

Re: What do you use it for?

so what would be the best way to find a replacement? Reman.'s are just too expensive... and you gotta be real close with a junk yard guy to get a deal off him(and god knows whats wrong with it). i just want to find one to build up so when i do find the right zx2 i want, all i gotta do is drop it in.

Re: What do you use it for?

for a zx2 you need to pull a motor from a zx2 in a yard...or a cougar/contour/escape vct i4 and use the zx2 cams and header from the screwed up motor, or you can use a foccus motor w/ some modifications.
