88 Cherokee Blower

My blower for the longest time worked no problem. Suddenly it would only work part of the time. Now it has stopped completly. Where is the blower located and would this just be a simple loose conection or would I have to replace the entire motor?

Re: 88 Cherokee Blower

The blower motor is located on the engine side of the firewall under the hood on the passenger side. It is black round plate with the motor in the middle held on by three bolts. Disconnect the connector , make sure the fuse is good, I think its a 30 amp, turn the key on and check for power at the connector with the blower turned on. If there is power at the connector, most likely the motor is toast. Remove the three mounting screws, lift the blower motor from the firewall. Detach the fan retainer clip from the fan hub then slide the fan off the shaft. Remove the motor to cover bolts and remove the blower from the cover. Bolt the new blower to the cover in the same position , slide the fan and clip back on , bolt it back in place, reconnect the connector and enjoy the powerfull cool breeze.....
