I Have A 1994 Gmc Burb With Rear Differential Noise... Does Anyone Know What Type Of Differential This Is Or Was Owner Of Shop Pulling My Leg. It's A V-8 454 7.5 L.
DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ESTIMATE OF HOW MUCH IT COSTS IN THE SEATTLE AREA TO REPLACE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS? |

If it's a 1500 series...probably an 8.5.
If it's a 2500...most likely a 9.5 semi-floater. Rough guess is a few hundred between parts and labor for bearings.

The noise ur probably hearing is due to your rear u joints breaking and causeing ur driveshaft to break the seal on ur rear axle. Therefore all the fluid has drained out of your differiental so u should get it repaired asap. The other possibility as with my suburban is that ur transmission has also torqued lose all my bolts were loose on mine. This type of wear and tear is due to not coming to a complete stop before u shift from reverse into drive. This is just what happened with mine urs might be totally different but it cost me 130 bucks to get it fixed in texas.
