roadrunner
u can't have a Plymouth forum without a the greatest muscle car of them all the roadrunner (i only consider 68-70 roadrunners real roadrunners the rest don't have that stripped down raw power feel)

Road Runner
I consider the Road Runner one of the purest muscle cars ever. Of course, the option laden later year Road Runners were nothing liked the stripped down '68s. But any car with minimal luxury features and an all performance engine (383) is a true muscle car to me.

I love the look of the early 70's, '71 to '73 I think. I just think they look a bit better than the earlier versions.
A 426 in any MOPAR will give it a "stripped down raw power feel", too bad they are quite expensive... A problem with all classic MOPARS unfourtunatly......

426 Hemi
I love that from the beginning through 1971, you could order a Road Runner with the Hemi. Talk about budget performance.

Gremlin, that's a beautiful machine you got there. I like the Road Runners better before they changed the body style, I guess it was i 1970... I love GM, but Mopar made some awesome vehicles.

)he wants to keep it in the family so i will but after tinkering with that thing i learned to looooove yes, thats right loooove mopars

HEMIs are great but id much rather have a 440+6 .

True, the 440+6 were a lot easier to handle on the street and for 99% of people are the better choice. Of course, the Hemi's are a lot more valuable.

ok listen guys... a hemi was not that great... there were alot of motors with 425 or more.... 427, LS-6 454, 409... you ppl talking up this hemi and saying nothing can beat it need to wake up, all these engines i've listed above have at least 425... i'd look into something other than MOPAR like anything

The Hemi at 425 horsepower was extremely under-rated. Of course, so were a lot of other engines in the '60's. Yet, almost all accounts of the era say that the Hemi was king.

well the hemi was all Plymouth and Dodge had going for them... the 440+6 was ok it had a nice 390 horse, but to say the Hemi was king....give me a GSX or a GS. (or my Wildcat
) not that i think i can beat one with the ole Cat, but i'd like to see how i do.
