longlive thanks for the advice.I will check the slave cylinder first. I forgot to say that the car runs fine it is just the gears. It sounds great when its running but it dosent move at all. If it is not the slave cylinder do I have to get another transmission? If so I found one for 300 bucks. Is that a good deal?

$300 sounds like a decent deal...

check the slave cylinder first but i think it is the synchros in the transmission. good luck...i would call around some local shops also and get an estimate on a fresh transmission rebuild for your car. it may benefit you to spend a little extra cash and dont have to worry about the transmission again.

you run the risk of buying someone elses transmission that is on its way out too when you buy used. or someone could possibly be selling you a transmission that already doesnt work properly.

anyways, check the slave cylinder and then get back to us.

Re: longlive

If the slave cylinder isn't bad, just get the trans rebuilt. To see if the slave cylinder is bad, fill the clutch fluid resivour up, bleed the slave cylinder (you'll need a buddy for this part), then sit in the car (after it's been bled off and refilled) and pump the shit out of the clutch. You should see a small puddle of clutch fluid under the car.
