civic EK-integra or an prelude?

hi, in a year, i turn 17(uk), and i want to buy japanese. offcourse, i could take an nissan silvia, only 750$ more, but the insurance is very costy for that car .

so i will choose honda, but now, which one?

the honda civic EK coupe?
the honda integra gsr?
honda prelude 5th gen?

the honda civic:
+ biggest custimation of those 3, around $2500, low insurance
- you see it to much, getting old
the honda integra:
+ looks nice, good stock performance
- around $5000, high insurance

the honda prelude
+ looks nice, good stock performance, around $3000, cheap insurance
- less options on exterior

i don't really know which one to choose.

my main goals off the custimation is:
nice looking showcar, around 250 bhp, not to expensive to upgrade(engine) to 250 bhp

i hope somebody could help me, or just give their vote(with your opinion please)

thanks in advance

Civic; cheaper and lighter. That's why I bought one.

Re: civic EK-integra or an prelude?

Haha, well I guess I'm gonna be the third link here and recommend the prelude. Only reason I say that is because it comes with 200hp stock, so you're that much closer to your goal. Then again, parts for the lude tend to be a bit more expensive. I think I'd suggest pricing out a bunch of the parts you need, as well as the price of the car, and see what each would cost. I agree with Ace$nyper though, you guys have so many cool cars.

Also 250hp will be different in all 3 cars. So in 1 car, 250hp might be enough but in another 300hp might be more of what you're looking for.

Go w/ the GSR, but it's not going to cost $5000.....its going to cost more towards $9000-12000 for one w/ low miles in excellent condition

it may not though... cause hes in the UK... car prices may be different than they are over here.... heres what you could do...go out and buy a 5th gen hatch... then put something like a b16 and turbo it... but or mabye build a b18... but either way... to get that amount of bhp... its gonna be exspensive iwas just saying the 5th gen hatch because they are very light and maybe a little less than 250whp would do it for you

Re: civic EK-integra or an prelude?

Oh, i didn't see he was in the UK......

but i agree w/ the hatch idea, that's what i want to do if my car ever gets totalled or stolen. If i ever have to get another car because of the above reasons, i'm going to buy a rolling shell of a hatch and build a b18C turbo...

thanks for all the replies guys. the reason why jap cars are cheaper here, is because they mostly are imported from japan(both are RHD countries), that's the main reason i guess. for a lightly modified nissan skyline R34, you pay about 15000 pounds which is about 30 grand US.

naah, i dont really like the 5th gen civic. its good that its light and you need less horsepower...but i prefer coupe's. i've never been a big fan of hatches, i dont now why.

if i'm going for an engine swap for the car, i think i'm going to take a f22(from the s2000, that's the f22 if im right) for rwd, but i need big $$ for that, by the time i have all that money, the car probally will be for sale for another car, prolly a mazda rx7, toyota supra or an r33(maybe R34 for the right price), all the 3 are about 5000-6000 pounds here, thats cheap.
