98 A4 2.7T burning oil!!!!!

I'm new here, and wondering if anyone else has experience with this. My g/f's A4 burns oil like crazy!!! It's like a full quart low like every other week. Is this a known problem for this car??? If so, any cure for this problem whatsoever????

Some help for the question would

a) Take it to the dealer, it's probably just a broken gasket/seal which in turn is letting oil in.

b) I haven't heard of this problem for the A4.
