FINALLY got my rims/tires installed...!

After much hassle, and waiting, my rims/tires came in today, this afternoon. The hassle was I originally ordered a set of Konig Heliums, and Kumho Ecsta 711 tires, in the first week of March. The wheels arrived to the place I ordered them from about 4 days after the order was placed. I had to wait ANOTHER 3 weeks for the tires, because they were on a huge sale at $28/tire for the common 195/50 "15 size! So they were in high demand, and for about 2 weeks, NO location of America's Tire Co. had them instock on the southern west coast region. I was told the tires were gonna arrive around the first week in April. So I go in on a monday to check on the staus of them, and I come to find out that the Heliums they had stashed away in the back for my order, had gotten SOLD by some idiot sales person that didn't check why only one set was there, and if it was on hold. My sales rep (who I also used to go to school with way back) had ordered another set that was due to arrive April 15th, when he first found out they got sold, he's the sales manager, and was off on the day they were sold.

Anywho, April 16th came around (the after they were due to re-arrive) and they aren't in yet. I was all like WTF? So my sales rep person called up the regional distro. warehouse to see why they weren't shipped yet, and they tod him that they wouldn't have any of the Heliums in till the end of MAy the earliest! He was all like "this wait is rediculous, let's find you some other rims at the same price..." He said the name Rota, and all that came to my head was Circuit 8's! That was because they had fitted a sweet black 5th gen Si hatch with a set of black Circuit 8's when I first ordered the Konigs. He told me those were just the ones he was thinking of. He called back the warehouse to confirm if they had any of those they could ship out, and they did! 2 days later, they arrived, and I got them mounted, and here's the pics of how they look on my baby. And I know I need to lower my car, that's what I'm saving for now, so leave it be! :finger:

On with the pics...

From the driver's front corner angle...

Looking at them straight on!

Let me know how/what you all think of them. Oh, and if you all must know, these wheels weigh 8kg!!! I believe that's around 11.5 pounds perr wheel!

They look good, but a car with 15" wheels NEEDS to be slammed IMO.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. For the wheels and tires, mounted and balanced, I payed $630 out the door for the package. No too shabby.

And on ther drop, I'm saving to do it right the first time, with the Tein "SS" kit. So it'll be a little while before it's slammed...

Sweet dude, I have no need for a true "race type" coilover system... when I was driving my car when the shocks werent blown, I was VERY happy with the ride quality w/ my Tenzo coilovers -- but of course stock shocks and a huge drop = bye bye shocks... looking for a replacement shock now, not sure what I want yet... since its not like im going to be autocrossing the bitch :finger:

But car looks good!

To each man his own, but thanks for being honest. No hard feelings. I've seen some others I wouldn't mind having, but I'm happy with the ones I got.

Ironically, the last time I had a "fat boy" in my car (this 300 pound guy I know rode in the back), the drum for the wheel he was sitting on the side of, started smelling of burning brakes after we parked to where we went. It was bad, and my car was fairly new then too, scared the crap out of me, not to mention my braking abilities were GREATLY reduced, time for the rear disc conversion I guess...

The tires I got with the rims are Kumho Ecsta 711's. Excellent tires for cornering, alright for highway driving. If you got to my pics page for my car, http://phixion.freewebspace.com/pics.htm I have bigger pics of the wheels and my car with them on, on there.

wut stumps me about those rims is that rota makes the 16s in dual lug patern but the 15s in single 4x100
