Relay chatter
I have a 99 Blazer that on occasion gets a chattering behind the glove box, It seems to be the Flasher relay but when I changed it it still chatters (not all the time, just whenever). Can this be the column blinker switch?? Nothing seems to be going on with the lights when this happens.

Re: Relay chatter
sounds like a relay.
Are there any relays in the glove box on a 1999?

I've had the same thing happen in my '98. I haven't traced it down yet as it doesn't seem to be too much of a big deal, but I thought it may have something to do with the dome light circuit, the switches of which are faulty on alot of these vehicles. I know at least one of them it faulty on mine.
It does sound exactly like a relay clicking. |

There is a bunch of electrical stuff behind the glove box. It hinges down to access it.

Re: Relay chatter
Do some testing to see which one it is and then you can correlate it to the function it serves.

Re: Relay chatter
My 99 Bravada made that noise (was coming from the flasher unit which is located behind the glovebox). It started as an intermittent chatter then became a constant clicking noise. I replaced the flasher, and same thing. It ended up being the multifunction switch on the steering column. Didn't figure that out until the smoke came from behind the steering wheel.
