Exclamation Tcs

Uh, it just rained today and i was driving along like normal and just started to slide .. .. it was fun but scary. Does that have to do with the TCS or something, or is that normal?

Well considering you ARE driving a rear wheel drive car, its normal if you step on the gas.

tcs(traction control system) would keep u from sliding on dry pavement, there aint much it can do on wet grounds tho... i didn't think ur year camaro had tcs... i thought it came out in '98... no its not ur tcs, its just wet ground and rwd car.

Re: Re: Tcs

Yeah, careful with the wet roads. Around last december I got in an accident (which has since then been fixed). I was at a stop sign about to turn left. The roads were soaked from the night before when it downpoured. My rear end slid out from behind me.. and bam, right into a tree.

Re: Tcs

lol, my suggestion is to find a large open area of asphault, an old airstrip, a big parkinglot, somewhere that you wont get noticed by the local fuzz, and start having fun and being stupid. So long as you dont hit a curb or a ditch the car will not flip, and you can get a feel for how it slides, and how to recover it, i did it in my car and the knowledge i got from it has literaly saved my life more than once. The rear end getting squirrly on you is kinda a trademark of camaros.

Oh and i do know that the TCS was available as early as 96, not sure about before that.

Re: Tcs

hahahaha, well ya know, you could be looking down, and not be able to feel a change in direction, then the light would come in handy

Re: Tcs

hell all i have is a low traction light in my display, but ever since i lowerd my car and hooked up the suspention and went with those 18inch wheels i can take off pretty hard when its wet and it doesnt go sideways on me like it use to. oh i also got a rearend out of a firebird so i get power to both wheels instead of the one wheel wounder like i use to have i guess it helped .
