Re: Fiero owners: your thoughts on this new Pontiac sports car?

They cost way more than what i am willing to spend for only 177/166. If I even thought about buying that I would have archie put a 350 in my 86gt. I can't wait to put my 3.4 in and line up with one at a light. I does look pretty slick thought. An SRT-4 would tear that out that frame. Car companies must not understand a turbo'd car will sell better that a n/a or supercharged car. If it was 300/300 turbo'd then i would get one and so would every other racer in america.

Um, it will cost $19,995.

Is it supposed to have 300 hp for $20,000?

An SRT4 is front-wheel drive.

300hp from an N/A, factory 4 cylinder. If you believed that give me a double of what you're on, cause it must be some good shit. Yeah, you're right, front wheel drive cars blow but it will still own that pontiac. I was just saying for 20k there WAY better 05/06 cars out there. I did a search on yahoo for the engine specs and that is what came up.

There is no car under $20,000 with 300 hp.

A Dodge Neon SRT4 does not compete with sports cars like a Mazda MX-5. It doesn't even have 300 hp.

Dude you don't know what you are talking about.

The MX-5 (Miata) has 142hp@7000rpms and 125tq@5000rpms

The SRT-4 has 230hp@5300rpms and 250hp@2200rpms

Let's start class.....HP sells cars and TQ wins races. The srt4 would accelerate way faster because the TQ comes on way faster. Basically the mx-5 is a piece of shit honduh in disguise. I know alot about turbo cars and why they spank N/A and supercharged cars. (all cars stock)

The Dodge Neon SRT4 is not a sports car.

How is the Mazda MX-5 a Honda in disguise?

Re: Fiero owners: your thoughts on this new Pontiac sports car?

Personally, I'm waiting for the Saturn version with the supercharged engine. It's about time an affordable domestically built vehicle with some driving dynamics is built!

Regards,
Tom Green

Saturn (GM) was stupid for supercharging the ecotec and expecting racers to fall for it. A supercharged ecotec is a waste of an ecotec. The GM race team that got 1200hp out of the ecotec turbo'd that engine. Superchargers suck ass. The Cobalt SS would get handled by the SRT-4, ONLY because of the turbo. For 20K the SRT4 is the BEST perfomance vehicle. If I had 20K at my disposal TURBO NORTHSTAR FIERO. I hope you guys don't race for a living, because your solstice would leave you looking stylish and losing every race. What's a car with style and not enough perfromance to back it up? A waste.

Re: Fiero owners: your thoughts on this new Pontiac sports car?

i dont know many respectable, responsible people that race their street car for a living. they usually have a purpose built car for their drag racing needs. frankly i dont see how one could make a living racing his street car unless he lives with mommy and daddy therefore bypassing the bills. the new gm roadster is not aimed at punk kids who think $tr33t r@c1ng 1$ $oo l33t. its a sophisticated pure roadster tuned for a fun tight handling ride. not for mad crazy launches from stop lights against your bud's honda.

back on topic. carnut122 i'm also lookin forward to the saturn with the optional 240hp supercharged/turbocharged engine (i've heard it may be a new version of the 2.0l turbo ecotec used in the vx220/speedster in europe). should be an awesome car for "get away from the hustle and bustle" drives on a twisty backroad and putting punk kids in their place(mom and dads garage).

A lot of cars would be faster than the new Solsice if you dumped 20K into them.

The Dodge Neon has a chassis that is over ten years old.

Re: Fiero owners: your thoughts on this new Pontiac sports car?

My point is why pay 20K for a car that is that weak when you could get the same loan and build a car that handles and performs than that one. And I would race my daily driver because I don't own a damn fiero to drive like a puss.
