D15(z6)?

I called a engine importer in town here, and they said they only bring in the D15 vtec motor. I believe he said a D15Z6. Is this a worthwhile motor? Anyone know the output of this motor? It sells for $645, and that comes with everything. But would I be better off grabbing a D16z6?

If you check on ardperformance.com and then go to jdm engines you will see a d15 sohc vtec. I think that is what you are talking about. As far as is it worth it in my mind no, I would just get a z6 for cheaper and work on it with the extra money.

I umm.. *cough* spun a bearing...

I was pushing it a little harder than I should have at this point. So, I paid for my mistake. But, I am picking up another hatch next week, and that motor will be going in there. For the civic I have now, I will be doing a z6 swap (if anyone knows of any for sale, or can point me to one, hit it up) and keeping it at that.

Re: D15(z6)?

I know the post is old...

But to clarify, the JDM D15B comes in both VTEC and VTEC-E, and in some cases (96+ engines) 3 stage VTEC which is both...

The D15B from the Civic VTi is about 130HP with the power implementation of VTEC...

The D15B from the Civic ETi is about 102HP with the Economy implementation of VTEC (VTEC-E)...

And as I said, the newer 96+ engines that came from a JDM EK is 3 stage VTEC...
