Problem With 97 Grand Am Power Windows
oDriver and passenger side power windows on my 97 Grand AM go down about half way then stop. To get them up you have to keep driving around. They go up about an inch at a time every ten minutes or so.
Any ideas. Is it the whole regulator or just the motor, and if so can only the moter be replaced. Any help would be great. Thanks, Tom

Remove the door panels and lubricate the regulator. If the motors are still good then the windows should operate properly. If the motors are bad you will see no change. Before replacing the motors check the voltage at the motors to make sure they are getting 12 or more volts. If there is a bad ground or hot wire to the motors they may not work properly. If the motors are bad then they can be replaced without removing the regulators.
