seat alhambra lack of power

can any one advise me about my seat alhambra 110 tdi.
the problem i have with it is that, ithas avery flat spot between 2000rpm-3200rpm. edc system shows no faults .
someone said disconnect air mass control on air filter this made avery small improvement.this air mass valve is over £200.00 pound so very weary about buying this to try.

i own seat alhambra 1.9tdi ,i have fitted a new maf sensor to my car,a good way to check your maf /airflow sensor is to drive normal but when you get in third gear try and accelerate if it picks up slowly you can guarentee it is the maf sensor,you can buy these for far less than £200 ,some places even sell reconditioned ones ,they are advertised on ebay under ford galaxy for about £60.if you are interested i sell tuniong boxes on ebay for tdi's my username is javorb31101966
