How heavy of door poppers?

alright, along with putting on a $3,000 paint job (no stickers or graphics included) and molding everything, i figured i'd go along and shave the door handles to give it that much of a cleaner look. has anyone ever shaved their handles? i'm looking at AutoLoc's kit but I don't know how heavy of poppers I need, I don't want to go to light so the door hardly opens but would 50lb be too much?

Re: How heavy of door poppers?

if you live in a area that get ice in the winter you want the heaviest ones you can get. cuz when that door freezes shut a little 20 pound popper wont handle it. also eclipses have pretty big doors.

Re: How heavy of door poppers?

I think that a 75 lbs or better would be plenty. The question is how easy does your door upen. If all you want the poppers to do is slightly open the door so you can open it the rest of the way then 20 lb poppers are good. If you don't want to touch your door at all 100 lb poppers. Just be careful not to go too strong.
