Infinity G35

Started this yesterday, I still havent gone out and picked up the drawing materials i need ( pencils, and a blending stump). So for now i draw with my mechanicl pencil, LOL.

Spent about a extra hour on it to get all my lines nice and crisp ( so it didnt look cartoony) like my last silvia drawing. C&C welcomed

will start shading it once i get the materials i need.

Re: Re: G35 ( mechanical pencil)

no i didnt trace, but yes i did use the grid technique on this drawing. First drew out the grid lines real lightly, then started to draw ( very lightly) , the grids were to help me get the lines right, After i had completly drawn the car, I filled in my lines darker, then erased the grid lines. Then went back over the lines once more, fixing them if needed. Ive spent quite a few hours on this drawing already, and i havent started to shade the dang thing yet.. My reference pic however is a stock g35, I drew in the front bumper and side skirts to give it my own look. Thanks for all the comments

( i truely hope you guys dont think of me as a tracer, because im far from tracing, You can only improve if you do it right and the honest way) I draw to improve my skills, I Just like to share to you guys what i do, and to get feedback on things i am doing wrong or right. once again, thanks for all the comments, Hope to start shading this thing soon. ( if only i was good at shading)

Re: Re: Re: G35 ( mechanical pencil)

I like it! Looks really clean. I want to see how it turns out.

Thought the grid was only to blow stuff up?

BTW art people who do realism are closet tracers.
Rockwell traced - Vermeer traced - Van Dyke traced -
Ingres traced...... Nothing wrong with it. It is a part of realistic art.
This is a hot and interesting topic on the web too. There is a famous
book about it by D. Hockney. It is funny to see how angry art dealers get about
this particular subject.

The trick is to make it look like it wasn't traced.

Re: Re: Re: Re: G35 ( mechanical pencil)

My ref pic is a bit smaller then my drawing, So all in all, It is blown up a tad bit. ( ref pic is from a magazine i have) As for the tracing topic, Ive read a bit about it and how some of those artist did actually trace. I think people have there own opinions on tracing and what it does to the actual art piece, But like you said. The trick would be, to make it look like its not traced. Thanks for the comment

hey m8,

I didn't say that u're a traces!! I just meant to say, that the drawing looks very very nice!!! and that the perspective is perfect;-)...so it was just a compliment!!
