Spring Cleaning

Ok guys, listen up, its time for me to be the tight ass moderator again.

Ive been away for a while and coming back there are some things that i have problems with, that we didnt use to have. These need to get cleaned up for the sake of the forum and our reputation on AF. We have to remember this is not the shop where all the guys are old enough to hear some of the jokes, and we all share the same opinion about things. This is an open forum to the community with no age limit, and no filters, so you have to treat it as such.

First - the immaturity needs to be taken down a peg. You wanna say you owned a stang or a VTEC, more power to ya, but stop putting down the driver unless they deserved it. Also, there is alot more general insensitivity around here, now dont take that the wrong way, im probly one of the least PC people youll ever meet, but stereotyping certain races (even if it dosnt offend some of them ) and calling things "gay" for instance is getting a bit annoying. You never know who on the forum may be offended even if they dont say anything. Im not saying dont ever do it, but its just being done too much.

Second - bickering happens, its a car culture thing. However how we do it follows some strickt rules. if you have a problem with a guy, you take it to him, and only him. you leave his mom, his girlfriend, his dog, his car, his favorate pair of jeans out of it. This rule has been violated many times, in several threads. You especially stop doing it if they specificly tell you that its out of line. If yall are gonna argue, be men about it, not school yard boys trying to make the other one cry.

and Third - when this shit comes up, use the moderators, its what were here for. If someone is out of line, dont fuel the fire by firing back, email a mod and we will come take care of it. This has not been happening.

Things need to get cleaned up. Ive been very lax as i was asked to be by certain people, and things are going downhill. As of now violations that i feel are a threat to the quality of our forum will result in bannings, or as i call them, cool down vacations.

More than likely the bickering and the fact that topics do tend to go way off topic

Re: Spring Cleaning

it was more or less the maturity level of some of the guys on the forum and the fact that i just got tired of the BS.. but, every now and again i like to check up on things and see how everyone's doin.

Agreed. If you want another mod to cover base while you aren't around, let me know. I'm not new to the job, just the sport.
