Question Bottom End?

hey i wondering what you could do to the gears or whatever to give your camaro more bottom end, like what type you would put in and how much work and money that would take, b/c i don't really care about goin fast at all i just want to get through the 1/4 mile in a fairly fast time or wicked fast, so if it was you what would you do to make your maro run faster on bottom end?

Re: Bottom End?

LT1 with 4.10's. That is bottom end.

How fast you want to go in the 1/4?

Anyone else think this thread was going to be about the bottom end of a motor?

Re: Bottom End?

you could break into the 13's with just the basic intake/exhaust mods iirc. But yea, 3.73's would be ideal gears for the task as well.

Re: Bottom End?

Run their mouths?? Who is running their mouth? Over reacting to what?

13 seconds with an LT1 car isn't bad. They are low 14 second car stock. You need to open it up intake and exhaust. Get some sticky tires, and you are in the 13's easy.

Re: Bottom End?

Whoa. I didn't think I meant to say anything about the title of the thread. I just thought something different is all.

4.10's with an manual, 3.73's with an auto. Gears cost $300 or so. Install is the expensive part.

Re: Bottom End?

ok the car is a 6spd (if i can ever get the title for it) then i'm sellin my atv and goin to put money in it since my parents wont give me money to make it run faster and i really don't want a job. What else would you do to it beside intake, exhaust, and gears. what bout chips and shit like that anything except for superchargers b/c i'm not ready for nething like that lol i don't even have my license's yet!!

Re: Bottom End?

with a six speed fourth gen running an LT1, i suggest...

LT4 conversion, you should be able to afford that from the ATV sale.

3.42 gears for good all around performance. and 13's should be a no brainer.

I would recommend steeper gears than that. Even more for the LT1.
Use the torque it has. M6 cars can handle 4.10's EASY.
If you want to keep streetablility, go with 3.73's.
My car is a 3.42 stock. I will bump up just a touch. 3.73's. That is a year or so away yet though. Next tax season.

Re: Bottom End?

lol, well its not really an LT4 thingy, its a performance package that includes heads, intake, and cam. I think its supposed to be worth 405hp. No different than me putting on a set of vortec heads, Super ram intake, and custom camshaft. Just yours is in a convenient package.
