New Member Radio Question
Hello fellow members,
My CD player eject machanism went defunct so I went to swap out the radio with a PIoneer, and everything is wired correctly to the adapter plug, but the unit is not getting power. Now when I put the original factory unit back in, it has no sound, but the display works. Anyone know what gives? How bout with the adapter? It says for models with external door chimes, how do I know which one I've got? It's an LT. Thanks, Nathan |

I tried it again this afternoon, and still no dice. The factory unit has no sound, and the Pioneer has no power. Has anyone on here forgone the plug, cut the adapter off, and hard-wired a new radio right into the wiring harness? Anyone suggest against this? I'm really beating my head against a wall here, and would like to put this thing back together soon.
Thanks for any info, Nathan |

Re: New Member Radio Question
If you have the adapter then don't cut it off just yet.
I assumed you have the wiring colour code for the Pioneer. Go to your wiring harness in the vehicle and using a voltmeter find out which wire gives you 12 volts with the ignition on and 0 volts when the ignition is off (with respect to ground). This will be your switched power and ensure that this is going to the proper wire through the harness that your Pioneer calls up. Then ensure the grounds line up. |

Possible to Reset the factory Radio?
Thanks for the reply. I tested the ignition wire and it does have voltage when "on" and none when "off." Which makes me think there is something else going on.
Does anyone know if there is a factory reset switch on these lovely Delco RDS radios? At this point I'd be happy just to cut my losses and go back to having a radio only that I could at least hear. My factory unit is not "Locked" or "Secure," and everything works except there is no sound. Any help is greatly greatly greatly appreicated. Thanks, Nathan |
