yet another problem has arrived. my parking lights and driving lights flicker even when car is shut off and no key in ignition. and when driver door is open there is a chimming to let you know door is open but it only chimes when lights flicker on and off. and there is a clicking like sound coming from under steering wheel that clicks everytime lights flicker. does any of this make sense to anyone????????? is there a fuse or something simple that i can do to fix this problem???? i am getting tired of sinking money into this car for simple stupid things like i am experiencing now. i luv this car and would like to buy another low mile one. please help me put fellas.

My wife's car is having a similar problem. Today it turned its own headlights on and it hadn't even been driven today. As a stop-gap measure I pulled the headlight and parking light fuses (located under the rear seat in the fusebox towards the passenger side) I traced the clicking buzzing sound to a black box under the dash located on the right side of a white plastic brace. It has two connectors going to it and if you pull either connector off the lights go out. I don't have an answer for you, but at least I know how to turn your parking lights off. Of course after you pull the fuse they won't work when you want them either. Hope someone on the list has an answer for us.

I found this by searching the archives. Isn't the internet wonderful?
Don't spend any money until you check out this thread. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbu...ad.php?t=198519 __________________ You have to scroll down and there is a very detailed description on how to clean the headlight switch. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. Ben |

Re: parking lights pissing me off
I don't think the above link works so try this one:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=198519 Read both of my posts here to fix the problem. It's a definite DIY project for even the most novice mechanic.
