Poor Stock Stereo Reception
I am new to the forums and just purchased a 2004 XTERRA. However the stock stereo (unfortunately not the upgraded Rockford Phosgate) gets terrible reception. I can't clearly pick up large, popular stations. Some work and some do not.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if so what they have done to remedy it. I would like to keep the stock stereo (I know this seems crazy!) because I have had several very nice after-market stereos in the past and have had 3 of them stolen. I like the fact that no one wants the stock unit. I just wish I could pick up all the stations. Any suggestions? |

Help Me out
This is worse than just a little fuzzy reception. Can anyone offer some advice?

Re: Poor Stock Stereo Reception
take it back to the dealer and have them look at it, it may be defective, they could have improperly soldered the wires together when assemling the radio. If its still under warranty they have to fix it or replace it.

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like no one else has had this problem. Maybe it is the stereo itself. That's all I wanted to know (if it was normal or not).
