outch. i can see some gater flying up and taking out the filter on the 04 5.3L Chevy Suburban.

I have seen the set up on race cars befor. thay use the preoiler to get the oil flowing befor starting.

i think you could do the same thing with a small electric oil pump a timer and a relay.

all you would need to do is add a pick up from the oil pan then plumb it to the pump to a oil port. the timer to turn on and off the pump via a relay.

turn on the key pump comes on then pumps the oil thru the oil passages then times out.

Re: Amsoil Concepts,Anyone ever tired them?

Whose wants to try it? Maybe we should all chip in a few each and we could have an answer.

One of the important things I remembered from class was keep the oil clean and up in the engine. It will help, the question is how much....

I Use Amsiol In A 93 V6 With 205000 mi With The Daul Filter System And Love It !!! I Built A Bracket Next To The Radator This Lowered The Oil Heat And Reduce Overall Heating Of The Engine .i Changed The Oil About Every 50,000mi Thats Right 50,000 Mi I Could This Because The OIL Was Clean By The By-pass Filter, And I Used A Larger Main Filter Increase Oil Capacity..i Never And Any Smoke Out Of Pipe From The Rings . I Gave The Truck To My Brother Who Drove From Dallas Tx To Detroit Getting About 21 Mpg
I Now 2003 6L Gas And Tried Royal Purple For One 5000 Period And Found That, My Tranny Temp Gauge On The Hd Was 5 To 10 Points Higher SO When I Switch Back To Amsoil The Temp. Went Back Down, And Here In Tx. Heat Is A Big Killer OF Oils
I'm Now Trying To Find A Good Place Under The Hood For A Dual Filter Set-up
Ya! You Can SAY I Like Amsoil
And No, I'm Not A Dealer

How does the engine oil effect your tranny temp?

its a yen thing. if the trany works hard it will overheat the motor. same thing with the motor. if its working hard and the trany is not it will overheat, by not shifting from a lower gear.

My engine knock(piston slapping) went away after one week using the amsoil(was using 5w-30 amsoil),I switch to 10w-40,i was worry at first because it seem louder after i started to use it,But now it's gone. However it is hotter in florida now though,About 65-70 degrees in the morning. So i guess it doesn't take that long to heat up and i miss the slapping noise ,oh well.

Hey how bout you try that AMS-Oiler™ Pre Chargerand tell us how it goes/works.
