Question about BMW prices

Hey,

I went to a local BMW dealership in Toronto, CANADA and asked them the price of TWO Bmw's.. one being the 325xi and the other being the 330xi.. 325xi is to have sport/premium package and the 330xi will have the premium package. It turned out to be pretty pricey so i asked them what's the best price that they could give to me.. I was going to pay in cash, so in the end, i was to pay bit over $115,00 for both vehicles. They said they would take off the tax/shipping charges that's about $1,450 for each car and throw in free rubber mats for both cars. I think they said each were worth 150 or so.. so after payin bit over $115,000 for two cars, and they give us bit over $3,000 discount.. is this deal good?!?!??!

please let me know..

thankin u's in advance,

j

Pricing

If your going to purchase "2 Cars" I think they should do better. Those mats are not worth $150 to begin with. Toronto has quite a few dealers. check another one.

hey thanx for your reply.. yeah, i found out from soem other friends too that the deal isn't the best one and that i should find a better one.. I thought so, cuz that 3k discount sounded a bit sketchy.. Maybe I'll go to the one in Mississauga or Hwy7 and Kennedy.. Do u know if any of these dealerships would make a better deal? hm probably not. anwayy, thanx

Deal

Sorry J, I could not say. However, try not be in too much of a hurry. Check out as many as possible. You are foutunate to be surrounded by so many BMW dealers. Worse case take a ride to London, Ont. There is a BMW/Landrover dealer there recently move to a new location, new building. Good luck!

You could also check out Steve Diamond at eurobuyers.com. He runs a consulting service exclusively for people buying new BMW's. I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to do. The cost he quoted me was $350 to help me buy a 325xi. I have been loking around for anyone who has worked with this guy, but so far no responses.

If you use him, let me know how it works. I don't know if he works in Canada, however. Good luck!

Thanks,
Bill

Deal in Toronto

The best deal I found is 2% off MSRP from Whitby. The salesman assured me that's the best I could find in the GTA. He said discount is actually set by BMW Canada to avoid price war between dealers. I hope that isn't true so I tried another dealer at HWY 7, and they offered only $500 off.

I will try a couple more and see what I can get.

So for the original poster got $3000 off isn't that bad compared to what I got, then again, buying two cars maybe another story. Which dealer did you go?

Anybody here got better than 2% off MSRP? Please let me know the dealer and salesperson. Thanks!!!

I live in Vancouver, Canada. I ordered 325i/2002 in November 2001. I got 1300 discount plus mats.

Your deal is better.

Hi J,

I am looking at the 325i, so 2% off MSRP is a little more than $800, hence your deal is better. Maybe I should go to your dealer instead. I wanted to try Downtown BMW this weekend.

Yeah, Whitby is far! And this place is owned by BMW Canada. Last time I went there they already have the Mini division setup (on a separate building, with cars in the showroom, but all covered). The Whitby dealer will charge me $1400 for PDI and Freight; I have heard other dealers charge $1600 instead.

Wish I lived in Vancouver! :-)

MSRP Discount

I managed to negotiate a 7% msrp discount, started at 4.5%, but quickly got it down, doubt you will get below that.

rstruthe - Share your wisdom

I am inking a deal Friday on a 2006 330i Sedan that will be delivered this weekend to the dealership. I was told that since this is one of the first models out this year that I could get really nothing off the MSRP. It has lots of special extra accessories on it, so I was given a few soft concessions. Big deal. Is this a rip off, or is this really true for brand new BMW models first out? How did you get yours down so low? What is your secret? I have haggled all week and gotten nowhere! I almost got a 2005 Tbird first and was offered $5,000 off the MSRP. What is the deal with BMW? Please share your tactics before I show up on Friday with Sucker written on my forehead. Sonja
